MyProtein Clear Whey Isolate Review

By  Rob J Thom

 April 9, 2020

This My Protein clear whey isolate review is going to let you know whether this really is a ‘game changer’ as it’s been called, with a detailed look on how it compares to the standard whey we’ve all become accustomed to.

In A Rush? This Section Is For You!

Advantages

+ Tastes Amazing

+ No bloating

+ Good Price

+ Easy to clean

Disadvantages

None

Summary: Tastes amazing, doesn’t make you feel bloated, sick or like you need the toilet, easy to clean, easy to mix, 20 grams of protein in every serving, decently priced. There is nothing really not to like.

Where To Buy: You can buy MyProtein clear whey isolate by going here.

If you’re like me and find the standard whey makes you feel sick and bloated then this could be what you’ve been looking for!

Unlike the standard whey that makes a thick shake, the clear whey from My Protein makes a juice/water type drink instead.

But is it as good as it sounds? This is exactly what you’re going to find out.

The Difference In Thickness & Texture

Left is the clear whey on the right is the standard whey

While it may not be very clear in the image above, the clear whey is like water, while the standard whey is more like a milkshake.

How To Use

Simply add a full scoop using the one provided into your shaker bottle, add 400 ml of water and shake for about 20 seconds.

Drink and enjoy.

Unlike the traditional whey that you can mix with milk, this one is designed to be mixed with water only.

How Much Protein Is In Each Serving

20 g per serving

Although it just looks like squash when mixed, there is actually a very good amount of protein in every serving.

In a tub, there are 20 full servings. I think it would have been better if My Protein made the tubs a little bigger to 30 full servings, personally though.

How Easy Does It Mix

Very easy.

After giving the bottle a good shake for about 20 seconds you wont feel any bits of powder at all.

It is by far the easiest to mix whey protein I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a fair few.

Is It Actually A Whey Protein

Yes.

Although you mix it with water only, and it just looks like a water based drink, it is actually pure whey protein.

How they’ve done that I don’t know, but they have.

The Taste

I’ve only tried the bitter lemon so far (will update with other flavours) but no exaggeration it’s the nicest tasting whey protein drink I’ve ever tasted by a loooooong way!

The bitter lemon flavour tastes like a still lemonade drink.

I’ts the first time I’ve looked forward to having a whey protein drink.

Not only do I look forward to having one, I’ve even got to try and stop myself having too many.

This may sound like I’m hyping the product too much, but I’m genuinely not. If you like lemon flavoured drinks I guarantee you that you will like this!

Cleaning

I almost forgot to mention this because it’s so easy to clean the shaker bottle, it hasn’t been an issue.

Unlike with standard whey protein, that typically sticks on the bottom of the shaker and makes it smell really bad if you don’t wash it straight away, this is not the case with this new clear whey protein.

Because it’s clear, once you’ve drunk it all it doesn’t even look like anything has been in the bottle.

When it comes to cleaning it all you need to do is add a little washing up liquid and swill it with some warm water and that’s it. It cleans just as easy as a cup of pop cleans.

Side Effects

Needing to pee

Other than needing to pee more often because of the water, I’ve not experienced any other side effects whatsoever with this protein.

Unlike the traditional whey protein shake that made me bloated, feel sick and needing the toilet afterwards.

This is a massive plus for me. Even if this new protein tasted lovely (which it does) but had the same side effects of the traditional whey protein I would not have recommended it.

Is It Vegan

No.

This is a whey product therefor contains milk.

So for you vegans, unfortunately, you’re going to have to give this one a miss.

If a vegan one does become available I’ll be sure to write a review on it for you.

Is It A Game Changer

I can only speak for myself but for me it’s a massive game changer!

I don’t know how many 3/4 full protein tubs I’ve got around the house, but it’s a few. However this is not going to be one of them.

The tubs are 20 servings each, and I’m having to stop myself having more than 2 a day. Not becuase I think I need that much protein, but becuase of how good they tatste.

I’ve already decided to order 3 more tubs so I can continue to have my 2 servings a day.

Best of all I no longer dread having to drink a whey protein shake that made me feel disgusting afterwards.
