Controlling Your DEEBOT With Your Voice

I’ve had a DEEBOT OZMO 920 robot vacuum now for about 2 months, but so far I had it connected via the app only.

So I decided now was the time to connect it to my Alexa and make cleaning even easier again as I was getting tiered using my fingers to press go on the app!

Anyway, I thought since there may be a few others who would be interested to know how to add there DEEBOT to Alexa I’d share how I did it step by step for you below.

it’s fairly straightforward to do, and you should easily be able to do it within 2 minutes.

Note: You will need to already have a Ecovacs account before you can link the robot vacuum to your Alexa.

My DEEBOT 920 next to my Alexa 4th gen Echo

Step 1

My Alexa App in-between mainly random apps I never use.

Open your Amazon Alexa App.

Step 2

The ‘more’ option in the bottom right hand corner.

The skills and games as seen below the routines.

Click on ‘more’ then click on ‘skills & games.

Step 3

The search button in the top right hand corner of my app.

Once you’ve searched DEEBOT this is the skill that should show in your app.

Type in ‘Deebot’ into the search bar and you should see a skill that says ‘Ecovacs DEEBOT’ you need to click on that.

Step 4

As you can see it’s a fairly big blue button.

Click the button that says ‘enable to use’ which will then activate the skill.

Step 5

You will need to type in the username and password you created when you first registered your device on the Ecovacs app.

It will now ask you to log in to your Ecovacs Deebot account with either your mobile number or email address and the password you set up when you made your account.

Step 6

I’ve the DEEBOT OZMO 920 and it showed up as an option straight away.

Once you’ve logged in, the next page will ask you to select which DEEBOT you would like to control with Alexa.

Final Step

Congratulations your DEEBOT is now connected to your Alexa.

Once you’ve selected which DEEBOT you want Alexa to control and clicked to continue the last page will let you know that you’ve successfully linked your robot vacuum to your Alexa.

You will now be able to control your Deebot Vacuum cleaner using your voice via your Alexa.

What To Tell Alexa

Now that you’ve successfully connected your DEEBOT to Alexa, these are the phrases you can use to control your robot vacuum via Alexa voice commands:

“Alexa, ask DEEBOT to start cleaning.”

“Alexa, ask DEEBOT to stop cleaning.”

“Alexa, ask DEEBOT to pause cleaning.”

“Alexa, ask DEEBOT to resume cleaning.”

“Alexa, ask DEEBOT what are you doing? ”

“Alexa, ask DEEBOT for its current status.”

“Alexa, ask DEEBOT to return to dock.”

I’ve now shown you how you can connect your Ecovacs DEEBOT to your Alexa, and which voice commands you need to know.

You can have a truly hands-free cleaning experience literally, including not having to use your fingers to tap go on the app.
